Rebel's Domain

Meet Scarlett a teenage girl who is trained by her father to survive in this cold world by killing, stealing and torturing. After killing her first victim, Scarlett's thirst for blood grew into an addiction. It's my first time reading this authors work.  Fabiola Joseph  has excellent story telling skills. Rebel's Domain had  me on the edge of my seat. This book is action packed and filled with unexpected twist and turns.
I gave this book 5 stars. Joseph has a way of intriguing her readers with every page turn. I'm looking forward to reading part 2 to this book and more work from this author.

Guest Post by Poet, Kendra Keene, Author of Black Love : Our People

We strive to be better and make moves every day.

The more we try, the more we are forced to find another way.

With all of the gun violence and police brutality; our men dying young has become our reality.

Wanting justice, taking people on their word

Why are we constantly being ignored and not heard?

Our children are becoming fewer and fewer

Why can’t we live our dream like the King, Martin Luther?

Promises, promises, all made to be broken

We need peace, these words already spoken

Protecting our own is more than a must

How can we do this not knowing whom to trust?

Harriet Tubman was brave enough to take us underground

Look at all of the lives she turned around.

For equal opportunities Mandela had to sit still, but what can we say about the life of Emmitt Till?

It’s a tragedy still felt til this day

When will the killing end? It’s still this way

For equality Frederick Douglass had a word, but we fight every day in order to be heard.

Get a pen and take down this note, Susan B. Anthony fought for women’s votes.

There is a lot we can fight for, but why are we fighting if it was done before?

We just want to go to work and take care of our own.

Can we do this if we are not safe in our own home?

This is America, a world that’s supposed to be free, are we free if they won’t let us be?

We have to continue to fight and show that we deserve more

We have to stand up for all of us, like our people did before.

Book Review : That D On The Side

That D On The Side  starts out  by introducing  Fanci . A woman  neglected in the  love department. by her husband,  James who   is 20 years older than  her. Fanci honors and respects  the vows. Therefore, the thought  of stepping  out on her husband  and her marriage  never crossed her  mind. Until  Devin came into  her life.  Devin not only  fills the void missing  by her husband, he gives  her what she's  been craving  and more. Eventually, they fall in love but there is one thing standing in the way of them being together. Is their relationship  worth all that it will cost them to be together?
That D On The Side  is a page - turner  and has all the  ingredients , drama, humor,  and a great story line  to make a great read. Although  there were errors in the book, they didn't take away  from the enjoyment  I experienced while reading. I  give this book four stars. Overall,  That D On The Side  is a great book . I enjoyed the message  the author  conveyed  and recommend  this book  to anyone  looking for   fun, great , and enjoyable  book to read.
